JOMB
A JOMB slab (also often referred to as a multi-hole slab or 'jomb') is a precast concrete element with a distinctive design, widely used in road construction.
CHARACTERISTICS :
- Speed of assembly: The ability to instantly harden the area without having to pour concrete or wait for it to set.
- Ecology and drainage: Thanks to the holes, rainwater freely soaks into the ground, which prevents puddles and does not disturb the water management of the area.
- Resilience: This allows it to carry considerable loads, the JOMB boards are characterised by their high resistance to deformation.
- Possibility of recovery: The slabs can be dismantled and laid elsewhere, making them ideal for temporary roads.
- Substrate requirements: An improperly prepared sub-base can lead to slab keyboarding (uneven settlement) or cracking.
- Difficulties for pedestrians: Openings can be awkward for people on crutches, wheelchairs
Application
- Access roads: Construction of roads with higher traffic volumes, access to properties or construction sites.
- Car parks and storage yards: Creating permeable parking surfaces.
- Slope and embankment hardening: Protecting the site from erosion and soil leaching.
- Temporary access: Creation of fast communication routes in difficult forest or field terrain.
