The white precipitate appearing on the surface of the paving stones is a natural process associated with the maturation of concrete, the material from which the paving products are made. As a result of the maturation (hardening) of concrete and the chemical reactions occurring, a calcium hydroxide compound is formed, which reacts with carbon dioxide in the air in the presence of water. The product of this transformation is calcium carbonate, which manifests itself as a white, hardly soluble deposit known as lime efflorescence. This whole process, as mentioned, is related to the natural setting reactions of the cement and does not affect the quality or properties of the products.

It is a technology that consists of a special treatment of the concrete mix that reduces the absorption of moisture into the concrete blocks from rainfall or water in the ground.

ABW Superbruk products meet the requirements of European standards in this respect. All Declarations are available and can be downloaded from our website.

Before designing the pavement, it is important to choose the right thickness of paving blocks:
- for pedestrian walkways and domestic terraces - from 4 cm,
- for pavements with low-intensity passenger vehicle traffic - 6 or 8 cm,
However, it is important to remember that the strength of a paving block surface is closely dependent on the substrate on which it is laid. The harder the substrate, the wider and deeper the pressure forces and stresses are distributed. In practice, this means that even a small cube thickness, laid on very hard ground, will be able to withstand relatively high loads, and vice versa - a thick cube laid on poorly hardened ground is no guarantee of a durable and resistant surface.

When choosing the colour of the paving blocks, the appearance of the fence, landscaping elements and, above all, the façade and style of the building should be taken into account. The use of coloured paving blocks makes it possible to create eye-catching patterns and highlight selected parts of the pavement.

The topic is quite extensive so we encourage you to read up on our website.

We are careful that in order to walk quite comfortably on the band around the house it must be at least 80 cm. It is comfortable even if it is 100 - 150 cm.

A palisade is a piece of small garden architecture that acts as a special fence, fence or surround. Thanks to it, you can separate different types of ground in the garden - green zones for relaxation, green areas and individually planted plants.

Openwork concrete slabs are a popular material used around the house. They work very well as slope reinforcement.

Yes, block pavers are aesthetically pleasing, practical to maintain and weatherproof, and the method of constructing block terraces is simple and relatively inexpensive. The terrace does not have to be connected to the foundation of the building, no special adhesives or concrete screed are required. We build the terrace directly on the ground. It is enough to lay concrete blocks or slabs on the prepared foundation; there is no need to fix them permanently to the ground, leaving a so-called 'floating surface'. This way of laying will ensure that the delicate movements of the cubes in the winter season, when low temperatures occur, are not a threat to the durability and appearance of the terrace, and the additional protection of the cubes with an impregnating agent will ensure their long use without any stubborn stains or any.

The slabs are laid on the ballast. The ballast should be very well compacted to the right level so that it is rock hard. Then lay the slabs. After laying, even out the difference in height by tapping by hand (piece of board, rubber mallet). No mechanical compaction. Then silt with sand.
