On the prepared substructure, we lay slabs or paving stones without permanently fixing them to the ground. They form the so-called "floating surface". In this way, we can easily replace damaged components already during the use of the terrace.

This way of laying also ensures that the gentle movements of the paving blocks during the winter season, when they are exposed to sub-zero temperatures, do not jeopardise the durability and appearance of the terrace. It is always a good idea to treat your patio paving blocks with an impregnation treatment. This will protect the material against stains and make it easier to remove any dirt.
